LISBON & THE NEIGHBOURING UNESCO HERITAGE SITES

Let us guide you through its treasures in an easy and comfortable way.
Day 1 – Lisbon |
Arrival at Lisbon airport and meeting with our professional guide, a true specialist in art and history, who will escort you during the whole stay.
Transfer to the selected hotel.
Balance of the day at leisure.
Dinner and overnight in hotel.
Day 2 – Lisbon |
Get acquainted with Lisbon’s monumental district, Belém, where stand the Jerónimos Monastery & tower of Belém, the best examples of Portuguese manueline art and both classified World heritage sites by UNESCO. Detailed visit of both external and internal areas.
Lunch in a Portuguese beer-house.
In the afternoon visit of the Marquis de Fronteira Palace and gardens a unique example of the manneristic gardens.
Dinner will be a on your own or in the hotel
Overnight in hotel.
Day 3 – Lisbon / Sintra / Cascais / Lisbon |
Leave for a whole day excursion of Sintra, today a small romantic town and favorite Summer Residence of the Portuguese kings and nobility in the old days. – the landscape of Sintra is under UNESCO protection as World Heritage.
We shall lead you through the labyrinth of stately rooms, narrow staircases and the kitchen of the old Royal Palace.
Lunch included.
In the afternoon, we visit Monserrate, a romantic English garden with an amazing and bizarre mansion in neo-Moorish style. These gardens are considered by some the loveliest English styled ones in Europe outside Britain.
Return to Lisbon by the coastal road passing through Cascais and Estoril.
Dinner will be served in a local restaurant with fado singing – classified Immaterial World Heritage by UNESCO.

Day 4 – Lisbon / Évora / Lisbon |
Today we shall take you to Évora, also known as “open air museum city”. Inside its defensive walls you will find a Roman Temple, a Gothic cathedral, a baroque macabre Bone Chapel …and Moorish patios and archways and Renaissance public fountain in quiet plazas. Needless to say that Évora , as a whole, is World Heritage too.
The trip to Évora can be enhanced by using the train instead of the bus.. The visit of historic Évora can be done only on foot.
Lunch is included during this excursion.
Dinner on your own. Overnight in hotel in Lisbon.
Day 5 – Lisbon / Tomar / Batalha / Alcobaça / Óbidos |
Start your day by visiting the enchanted castle of Almourol, built on a rock formation in the middle of Tagus river. After a short drive, reach Tomar – your firs World heritage site of the day.
Visit the convent, the old headquarters of the Templars Knights in Portugal and reputed to be the best preserved of the Templars’ Castles still existing.
Lunch on your own.
Drive on to Batalha – your second World Heritage monument of the day..The monastery is undoubtedly the most beautiful gothic building in this country.
The last World Heritage spot of this tour will be Alcobaça, where you can admire the magnificent gothic tombs of Pedro and Inês , the royal Portuguese love story.
Dinner and overnight will be in the medieval town of Óbidos,
Day 6 – Obidos / Lisbon |
Leave for the airport – one hour’s drive by bus.
End of our service.
