OPORTO WINE CITY

Oporto, second largest city of Portugal, famous around the world because of the the generous wine shipped from its harbour – port wine – has much more to offer than wine cellars – its old town is classified as Unesco Heritage Site, its new buildings such a Casa da Música or Serralves Museum that have become landmarks of the modern architecture, its beutiful surroundings full of history and tradition.

Day 1 – Oporto

Arrival at Oporto airport where your clients will bea offered a small bottle of port wine or a little rooster made of clay and painted with brilliant colours – Galo de Barcelos – symbol of Portuguese hospitality.

Transfer to the chosen hotel. Welcome cocktail followed by a buffet dinner composed by selection of the most genuine Portuguese cuisine.

Overnight in Hotel.

Day 2 – Oporto

Morning will be spent in a meeting.

For those who do not participate in the meeting a shopping tour can be arranged – Oporto is considered a bargain for shoes and clothing among other local products.

Lunch will be served for the whole group in the Serralves Mansion.

In the afternoon guided city tour visiting the major monuments of the city – the azulejos of the railway station, of the cathedral cloisters are a must, besides the precious São Francisco Church the walls and vaults are covered with gold leaf.

Dinner will be served in a top class restaurant from which one has a dazzling panorama of the city, but before dinner, as an appetizer, a full visit of a port wine cellar will be made where one has the opportunity of learning the secrets of this wine as well as taste different types of it.

Day 3 – Oporto & Douro Valley

We take you on a full day excursion to the wine growing region in the Douro Valley. To begin with we shall visit the Mateus Palace the façade of which has made the tour of the world as a label of the Mateus Rosé bottles.

Lunch will be served in the premises of a vineyard.

The way back to Oporto can be made by boat down the Douro river depending on the season of the year and time availability as the navigation time will be approximately 4 hours.

Farewell dinner can be organized as a private function in the Moorish Hall of Oporto Stock Exchange and after dinner a small orchestra
for dancing. OR have it more informal and why not try a seafood menu feast in one of the many restaurants along the coast.
