PORTO, SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA & FÁTIMA

Day 1 – Oporto / Guimarães

  

Arrival at Oporto Airport. and transfer to Guimarães , one of the most fascinanting cities of this country (World Heritage UNESCO).

 

Brief visit of the old medieval town and Palace of the Dukes.

 

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.    

 

 

 

 

  

Day 2 Guimarães / Valença / Santiago

 


Drive through the green valleys of Minho province til the fortified border city Valença (brief visit of the bulwarks and ramparts) & continue till Santiago. 

In the afternoon visit the Basilica and the Medieval city center of Santiago.

Full board in Hotel.

 

Day 3 Santiago / Braga / Oporto

Enjoy the vistas of the Galician coast: Vigo, Bayona cross the border and continue to Braga, called the bishops’ town that keeps important religious buildings among which, the shrine of Bom Jesus, a fine example of baroque impressive architecture.

Here besides, admiring the spectacular staircase and park, enjoy a ride in the old funicular (moved by a water machine).

Lunch in restaurant .

 

In the afternoon arrival at Oporto.       Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

 

Day 4 Oporto / Coimbra / Fátima

 

Morning city tour of Oporto not forgetting to visit the wine cellars where Port Wine is aged before being shipped to the world.

 

No visit of Oporto is complete if you miss a river cruise (less than one hour navigation).

Enjoy a typical Portuguese meal ina typical restaurant.

 

In the afternoon proceed to Coimbra and visit one of Europe’s oldest Universities and the magnificent Baroque Royal Library.

 

After one hour’s drive you will be at Fátima. Dinner & overnight in Hotel.

Day 5 – Fátima

 


 

 

Full board in Hotel.

 

Morning dedicated to the visit of the Basilica and Chapel of Apparitions.

 

In the Afternoon visit of Tomar and its celebrated Convent, headquarters of the Templar Knigths in Portugal.

 

 

 

Day 6 Fátima / Batalha / Nazaré / Óbidos / Lisbon

  
Begin your day with the visit of Batalha (UNESCO world heritage) & Nazaré a charming fishing village, & Óbidos, a medieval village still surrounded by its defensive walls. 

Lunch en route.

Arrival at Lisbon in the late afternoon.

Dinner & Overnigth in Hotel.

 

 

Day 7 Lisbon / Sintra / Cascais / Lisbon

 
Morning city tour of Portugal’s Capital city: Jerónimos Cloisters, the Royal Coaches Museum, the Monument to the Sea Discoveries. 

Lunch in a restaurant.

In the afternoon visit of Sintra with its labyrinthic Royal Palace and return to Lisbon via Cascais & Estoril twin seaside resorts.

Dinner & Overnigth in Hotel.

       

 

 

Day 8 – Lisbon

 
Transfer from Hotel to Lisbon Airport. End of our services.
